Your First Visit
At Ideal Smiles Family Dentistry in Houston, your first visit is all about connection, comfort, and care. We want you to feel welcome from the moment you walk in, and we’ll take the time to get to know you, your dental history, your health, and your goals for your smile.
What Happens First
When you arrive, our team will review your medical and dental history, including any current medications, vitamins, or supplements you’re taking. This helps us design a treatment plan that’s safe, effective, and tailored to you.
We’ll then perform a comprehensive oral exam, which may include digital X-rays and a gentle oral cancer screening. If your gums and teeth are healthy, we’ll go ahead with your professional cleaning during the same visit. If we notice signs of gum disease, we may schedule additional time for a deeper cleaning so we can give your smile the attention it needs.

After your exam, Dr. Combs will walk you through her findings, answer your questions, and discuss your treatment options. Together, we’ll create a plan that meets your needs, respects your budget, and helps you maintain a healthy, confident smile.
